Biography
Formed in Versailles, Kentucky in 2014, Trippin Roots has spent more than a decade carving out a sound that blends Rock and Americana with emotional grit and modern edge. Drawing influence from classic rock, alternative and hard rock, acoustic singer-songwriters, and hymnals, their music lives where Kings of Leon meets Red Clay Strays, grounded in the honest storytelling spirit of Tom Petty. Fronted by Evan Curran (guitar, lead vocals) and Zac Day (guitar, harmony vocals), with Chris Linkous on bass and Ryan Whitt on drums, Trippin Roots delivers songs built for both quiet reflection and full-throttle live rooms.
The band is a three-time Lexington Music Awards winner for Best Americana Act (2020, 2022, 2023), a 2023 Appalachian Awards Best Americana Act, and a 2025 Josie Awards finalist for Best Americana Act and Best New Single. Their catalog includes Waiting for the Fall (2018), Modern Man (2019), and recent singles including “Good Enough for Me” (2025) and “Dance the Day Away,” with a new album, Plastic Flowers, planned for 2026.
